Weatherby in 270

In my mind the M70 still stands supreme. On a whim, I bought a Weatherby Vanguard S2 Deluxe not long back in 270 and it didn't take but 20 rounds to determine I wasn't going to like this rifle. A beautiful rifle, slick action but, it kicks like a 300 Weatherby and smacks me on the cheek to the point of stinging. Something about that stocks cheek piece I suppose but, long story short, I traded it or rather exchanged it for a Savage 22-250.

My 1952 M70 and the Tribute rifle in the same caliber didn't do that. I don't know what it was with that rifle. It was my first and not so good experience with a Weatherby rifle and my last. The old M70 is a lot more docile. I'm sure others won't experience what I did but for me, I'll stick with the Winchester.
